Use the File Manager

The Files section is a full web file manager for your account’s home directory — no FTP or SSH needed for everyday tasks.

  • Use the folder tree on the left or the breadcrumb at the top.
  • Home returns to your account root; Up goes to the parent folder.
  • Single-click selects a file; double-click opens a folder or the text editor.

Upload files

  • Drag and drop files anywhere onto the file list, or click Upload.
  • A progress bar shows each file; you’ll get a toast like “3 files uploaded” when it finishes.
  • Uploading a .zip and then using Extract is the fastest way to upload a whole site or app (one transfer instead of thousands of small files).

Edit, create, organize

  • New File / Folder to create items.
  • Select a file → Edit to open the built-in text editor; Save writes it back.
  • Rename, Copy, Move, and Download act on the selected item.
  • Compress packs items into a .zip/.tar.gz; Extract unpacks an archive.

Delete one or many

  • Select an item and click Delete, or
  • Tick the checkboxes (or the Select all box in the header) and the Delete button becomes Delete (N) to remove everything you’ve checked at once.

Permissions

Select a file → Permissions to set the octal mode (e.g. 644 for files, 755 for folders). Most apps don’t need anything more permissive.

Tip: your site’s public files live in the website’s document root — the folder named after your domain. See Websites.
