Schedule cron jobs

The Cron Jobs section runs commands on a schedule — for backups, queue workers, newsletters, cache warming, and any recurring task your app needs.

Add a cron job

  1. Go to Cron Jobs → Add job.
  2. Set the schedule using the five cron fields — minute, hour, day-of-month, month, day-of-week. Common examples:
    • */5 * * * * — every 5 minutes
    • 0 * * * * — hourly, on the hour
    • 0 3 * * * — daily at 03:00
    • 0 0 * * 0 — weekly, Sunday midnight
  3. Enter the command to run, e.g.:
    • php /home/orbix-you/example.com/cron.php
    • cd /home/orbix-you/app && php artisan schedule:run
  4. Save.

Edit or remove

Use Edit to change the schedule or command, or Delete to remove a job.

Tips

  • Use absolute paths — cron doesn’t run from your app’s folder by default.
  • For a PHP script, call it with the PHP binary (php /path/script.php), not a URL, unless you specifically want an HTTP request (curl -s https://…).
  • Send output somewhere if you want a record: append >> /home/orbix-you/cron.log 2>&1.

Not sure your job ran? Add logging as above and check the log via the File Manager.
