Migration & import
Migration brings existing hosting into OrbixPanel so you can switch with minimal downtime.
What it imports
Depending on the source, migration moves:
- Websites (files + vhosts)
- Databases (and users)
- Email accounts and data
- DNS zones/records
Run a migration
- Open Migration and choose the source (e.g. cPanel/Plesk, or a backup archive).
- Provide access — source server/API credentials, or upload the backup.
- Select the accounts/sites to import and map them to packages/tenants.
- Start, then watch progress in Tasks.
Cut over with little downtime
- Migrate while the old host still serves traffic.
- Verify each site/email/database on OrbixPanel (test with a hosts-file override or a temporary subdomain).
- Lower DNS TTLs a day ahead, then switch DNS to the new server.
- Keep the old host live until DNS fully propagates.
Migration is an adoption gate — schedule it early when moving an existing customer base. Verify restores and email flow before you point DNS.
