Deploy a Laravel app on OrbixPanel
Laravel deploys as a PHP app, served from public/ by nginx + php-fpm — no
reverse proxy, no port to worry about.
What OrbixPanel does automatically
On deploy, it:
- Runs
composer install --no-dev --optimize-autoloader. - Creates
.envfrom.env.exampleif one isn’t present. - Runs
php artisan key:generateandphp artisan config:clear. - Makes
storage/andbootstrap/cache/writable by php-fpm. - Serves the
public/directory.
The step you run yourself: migrations
Migrations are not run automatically (that’s deliberate — it touches your
data). After the first deploy, configure your database in .env, then from the
web terminal:
php artisan migrate --forceConfigure .env
Set your real values — database, mail, app URL, and any API keys. Create the
database in the panel first and connect on
localhost:
APP_ENV=productionAPP_DEBUG=falseAPP_URL=https://yourdomain.comDB_CONNECTION=mysqlDB_HOST=127.0.0.1DB_DATABASE=yourappDB_USERNAME=yourappDB_PASSWORD=•••••Pick a modern PHP version
Set the site to PHP 8.x and enable OPcache for a big speed boost — PHP version & OPcache.
Performance
For production, cache config and routes after deploy:
php artisan config:cache && php artisan route:cache && php artisan view:cacheAdd Redis for cache and sessions.
Troubleshooting
- 500 / blank page → check
storage/logs/laravel.log; usually a missing.envvalue or an un-run migration. - “Permission denied” writing to storage → see fix permission errors.
